Administrative and Performance Associate

ADMINISTRATIVE AND PERFORMANCE ASSOCIATE
 
Location:  Richmond, VA
Department:  Davenport Asset Management
 
OVERVIEW
This is a non-exempt position supporting Portfolio Managers, Investment Executives and Davenport Asset Management personnel in the preparation of presentation materials and administrative support.  The position provides broad exposure to Davenport Asset Management with the intent to serve as a base for future growth within the department.
 
This position requires overtime, particularly after quarter end.  Time off should be scheduled outside of quarter end and other busy periods.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Creating presentation materials
    • Client Books
    • Custom performance and fee analysis
    • Monthly and quarterly institutional account reports
    • Market charts
    • Power Point Presentations
Additionally, to serve as back up:
  • Performance attribution studies
  • Creation of portfolio analysis reports and models
  • Assistance with institutional summit
  • Portfolio Review meetings
  • Trading support
  • Administrative support
 QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong math aptitude, numerical and quantitative analysis skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Extremely well-organized, detail-oriented and accurate
  • A strong desire to pursue a career in the investment business
  • Strong time-management and problem-solving skills
  • College Degree and Series 7 & 66 registered or must obtain registrations within six months of hire date
  • Highly motivated; ability to work independently, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel and Power Point; knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator desirable; knowledge of Bloomberg a plus
  • Ability to learn and master computer applications that house customer data
  • Ability to understand and adhere to industry rules and regulations
  • Regular full-time attendance to meet the daily demands of the position
